Job Summary 

The Vice President & Trust Officer is responsible for the day-to-day administration of a variety trust and fiduciary account relationships. This position oversees trust administration, supports strategic business development and client retention, and collaborates with team members to contribute towards the company’s new business sales goal. 

Location: In-person, Wichita office 

Type of job: Full-time, salaried, non-exempt 

Key Responsibilities

Administrative 

  • Accounting (Mail quarterly statements & performance reports, arrange for Online Access). 
  • Cash Flow Review (set up sufficiently for periodic distributions or payment of bills). 
  • Concentration Letters – Explain TCK policy/obtain client signature. 
  • Daily review of overdrafts, transactions, etc. 
  • Investment Philosophy Reviews/Updates (periodically). 
  • AMS/MIM – Review proper set up and timely realignments. 
  • Mutual Fund/Stock/Bond Trading, as needed. 
  • Tax Planning (year-end, send tax ledgers, communications with client/accountants, etc.) 
  • Routine Review of Last AMS/MIM Runs, Risk Tolerance, ACT! maintenance, etc. 
  • Annual/Interim Account Reviews – review ACT, MAUI, and all related account documents; prepare reports for Trust Investment Committee review. 
  • Serve on Trust Investment Committee. 
  • Unique Asset management – work closely with Unique Asset Officer to properly administer unique assets held in client accounts. 

Retention 

  • Client Meetings- review client goals, investments, estate planning, gift planning, retirement planning. 
  • Attend client functions, including but not limited to, social events, lunches/dinners, educational presentations, etc. 
  • RCs (Reportable Calls) to/from clients (annual RC goal assigned). 
  • Employer client meetings (if administration duties include ERISA accounts). 
    • Work with third-party administrator to review plans appropriate for the employer. 
    • Sign up new participants 
    • Obtain beneficiary designations 
    • Determine investment philosophy for each participant 

New Revenue  

  • Meet annual sales goal. 
  • Regular contact with clients, prospects & referral sources. 
  • Prospect meetings- Discovery meetings to determine level of service desired/needed, goals, investment philosophy, etc. 
  • Review all prospects documents (current investment statements, trust/will/retirement plan/agency, etc.) 
  • Create Morningstar reports 
  • Review/make determination of transfer of marketable securities. 

Qualifications: 

Education & Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience. 

Skills & Competencies 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks. 
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • High attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Self-motivated. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Trust, accounting, or banking experience. 
  • C.T.F.A. and/or J.D. designations. 
  • Software Usage

    • ACT! (Client Relationship Manager) 
    • MorningStar 
    • Envestnet | MoneyGuide Pro
